Launching of 1Malaysia Contemporary Art Tourism at KLCC
By Liew Kian Yap

Hi Friends of ArtMalaysia!

This is the 3rd 1Malaysia Contemporary Art Tourism launched on 11 July 2012 @ KLCC. It's amazing to see all these performers who are wearing various cultural costumes that reflect Malaysia Truly Asia. Many of us know in our heads that we live in a multi-cultural, multi-racial, multi-religion, "multi-food" country....but we rarely make time to tour our own country to witness all these beautiful culture.

Look at all these pretty ladies donned in cultural costumes...there are similarities to those in Switzerland, Holland, China and around the world. Sadly, I don't have time to capture photos with these charming women...I once visited some of these tribal community in East Malaysia and I was amazed by the uniqueness of their musical instruments during their cultural dances.

As I looked across the auditorium during the launching of 1MCAT, I was surprised to see many prominent guests as well as foreign visitors...and I stumbled into these three familiar faces. They are Iranian artist cum founder of Cube Gallery, Asghar Yaghoubi, Filipino art writer, Radel Paredes and Filipino artist,Celso Pepito (he told me that he was very impressed by Tourism Malaysia with the idea of Art Tourism in which was launched by YB Dato' Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen and he intends to bring home this idea to Cebu, Philippiness)

Stay tuned as I am busily and steadily updating you with latest art events organised by 1MCAT in collaboration with shopping malls, National Art Visual Gallery (BSVN) and art galleries! Log on to 1MCAT new Facebook page!
