As Penang is transforming itself to become a Millennium City, there are many interesting events crafted by the Penangites for George Town Festival 2012. One of the notable and creative event is “Fine Arts Fine Dining”.

The sole purpose, is to create and promote arts and culture, using the restaurants as a stage to present arts to its audience. These exhibition with culinary experience, will also increase the similar customer base, for four of the best restaurants in town.

Quotes from Paul Toh, who had the opportunity to be at the event launch “ This feels like going to an art gallery, without having to go to an art gallery itself! This will give the local Penangite the habit of enjoying  great food, while appreciating art together. "

The restaurants are:
1.       CHEZ WENG, at Precinct 10 – Contemporary fusion Western.
2.       Hisago Modern Japanese Restaurant, at Straits Quay retail marina – Japanese cuisine.
3.       Annabelle's Place, at Tanjung Bungah – A European cottage with Windsor high tea and gourmet sandwich and pastas.
4.       Il Bacaro, Campbell House, Lebuh Campbell – Genuine Italian food, with chef from Italy.

A total of 28 pieces by 11 artists will be exhibited, both local and from latin America. With artist like Pheh It Hao, Lee Eng Beng, Yap Tho Seng, Esther Geh, and latin artist like Elvis Rosendo, Manuel Hernandez, Jose Gotopo, Jose Gonzalez, etc.

The event is organized by WAF Art Gallery, at Straits Quay, in conjunction with George Town Festival.
