Lam Le Siang

With the recent acknowledgement from the Shell Group to include
Lam Le Siang's current series entitled "Down Memory Lane" into
it's Heritage Program and Calender 2008, Lam joins in the selected
few fellow artists before him and has come into a full circle in his
continuous aesthetic and spiritual search in the journey as an artist.

Born in Batu Pahat, Malaysia in 1949 as kampung Boy, The 'Down
Memory Lane' oil paintings evokes the serene, nostalgic charms
and scenes of growing up and living carefree with harmony in
respect of family life and its kampung natural surroundings.

Lam Le Siang's illustrious career in fulfilling his dream to became
an artist started from the mid 1970's when he joined and graduated
from the prestigious Nanyang Academy in Singapore. From then on,
he continued his artistic career concentrating in his exploration in
ceramic art, in between stints in furniture design, commercial and
advertising design.

He also taught at the KL College of Art, the Central Academy of Art
and ceramics at the Yayasan Seni. His artworks are with many
private collectors and corporate bodies which include the Shell
Group, Exxon, Maybank, Star Cruises etc. With the inclusion of
several awards especially Best still Life Painting Award, Singapore
1974 and Gold Medal Award - General Books : Children Section
1988. Lam Le Siang continues to shine and star in the Malaysia
Artist Arena.
