Big Pond

Judin Ahmad

Judin bin Ahmad (b. 1953) is an adventurous artist of sorts. He likes exploring jungles, climbing mountains and fishing to draw inspiration for his artworks.

Using acrylic as his medium, this lecturer of fine arts displays a strong sense of creativity by turning plain green trees or brownish roots into multicolour artwork. His masterpieces, mostly without the inclusion of human subjects, are usually in abstract form so that he can play around with patterns and colour to make his paintings all the more appealing and interesting.

Judin, who is president of Angkatan Pelukis Kedah (APK), loves organising trips to the jungle and fishing trips for APK members. He certainly has his art teacher, Koay Soo Kau, to thank as the latter has always believed in Judin’s potential. Being the favourite student to the contemporary artist during his secondary studies has since ignited an early interest in him to become an artist.
